โครงการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์และออกแบบลายผ้าไทยร่วมสมัยชายแดนใต้ Contemporary Southern Batik by OCAC
กระทรวงวัฒนธรรมให้ความสำคัญและเล็งเห็นถึงคุณค่าของผ้าไทยอันเป็นภูมิปัญญาที่สืบทอดกันมา และจากความสำเร็จของโครงการผ้าไทยร่วมสมัยชายแดนใต้เมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๘ และโครงการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ชุมชนเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง “ผลิตภัณฑ์จากผ้าไทยร่วมสมัยชายแดนใต้” (Contemporary Southern Batik by OCAC) ขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๑ ที่ผ่านมา สำนักงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัย ภายใต้กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม และสำนักงานวัฒนธรรมจังหวัด ได้ดำเนินการเพื่อเป็นการต่อยอดและให้เกิดความต่อเนื่องจนเกิดเป็น โครงการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์และออกแบบลายผ้าไทยร่วมสมัยชายแดนใต้ (Contemporary Southern Batik) ในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๒ นี้

สำหรับครั้งนี้เป็นการร่วมงานกับผู้ประกอบการ/กลุ่มผู้ผลิตงานบาติกท้องถิ่นที่มีความโดดเด่นจาก ๔ จังหวัดชายแดนใต้ ได้แก่ ปัตตานี ยะลา นราธิวาส และสงขลา จำนวน ๑๕ ท่าน กับนักออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกายชาวไทย ๓ แบรนด์ ได้แก่ Ek Thongprasert โดย คุณเอก ทองประเสริฐ, Sarunrat Panchiracharoen โดย คุณศรันรัตน์ พรรจิรเจริญ และ T-Ra Chantasawasdee โดย คุณธีระ ฉันทสวัสดิ์

Contemporary Southern Batik by OCAC
Following the success of Contemporary Southern Batik in 2015 and Contemporary Southern Batik 2018, the Ministry of Culture by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture has taken another step with this year’s Contemporary Southern Batik by OCAC 2019 project. 15 distinguished local Batik producers from 4 provinces in the deep south of Thailand – Pattani, Yala, Narathiwas, and Songkla - were carefully selected to collaborate with 3 celebrated Thai fashion designers; Ek Thongprasert, Sarunrat Panchiracharoen and T-Ra Chantasawasdee.

EK Thongprasert โดย เอก ทองประเสริฐ
เอก ทองประเสริฐ คือนักออกแบบที่ตื่นเต้นกับการค้นคว้าเสาะหาความเชื่อมโยงทางวัฒนธรรมผ่านเงื่อนไขทางกาลเวลาต่าง ๆ ในรูปแบบที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะของเขา สำหรับคอลเลกชั่นนี้ เอก ทองประเสริฐ ติดตามการเดินทางของผ้าบาติกในพื้นที่แถบชวาผ่านการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ยุคล่าอานานิคมของชาวดัตช์ ที่เขาเชื่อว่าความคล้ายคลึงระหว่างลวดลายภาพพิมพ์บนผืนผ้าด้วยการใช้น้ำตาเทียนในประเทศแถบแอฟริกา และงานบาติกของไทยอันได้รับอิทธิพลมาจากมาเลเซียนั้น ไม่ใช่เรื่องบังเอิญ และได้กลายมาเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของความสนุกในการค้นหา และตีความของ เอก ทองประเสริฐ ในคอลเลกชั่น The Reversed Colonialism นี้ ผ่านการเลือก หยิบยก องค์ประกอบทางความสัมพันธ์ มาสร้างความสัมพันธ์ใหม่ในแต่ละชิ้นงาน เพื่อทำลายความห่างไกลของผ้าบาติกกับวิถีชีวิตอันรีบเร่งในยุคปัจจุบัน

Sarunrat Panchiracharoen โดย ศรันรัตน์ พรรจิรเจริญ
ศรันรัตน์ พรรจิรเจริญ สร้างสรรค์คอลเลกชั่นที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวผ่านลวดลายบาติกบนผืนผ้าที่เข้าเลือกใช้ เรื่องราวของการเดินทางไปดำน้ำที่หมู่เกาะสุรินทร์ กับการดำน้ำแบบฟรีไดรฟ์ อันเป็นรูปแบบการดำน้ำที่ปราศจากเครื่องช่วยหายใจ และสามารถก่อให้เกิดประสบการณ์ที่เหมือนเราเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันกับธรรมชาติ ประหนึ่งเป็นสัตว์ทะเลทั้งหลายที่ได้สัมผัสความงามใต้ท้องทะเลที่เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องน่าตื่นตาตื่นใจแล้วสนุกสนานในทุกครั้งที่ไป

T-ra Chantasawasdee โดย ธีระ ฉันทสวัสดิ์
ธีระ ฉันทสวัสดิ์ สะท้อนประสบการณ์จากการเดินทางไปยังประเทศไอซ์แลนด์กับครอบครัวของเขาผ่านงานบาติก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการถ่ายทอดความงามของแสงเหนือผ่านการไหลเวียนของสีสันบนผืนผ้า หรือ ความภาพความประทับใจของธารน้ำแข็งที่ Diamond Beach ที่ถูกตีความผ่านเทคนิคการย้อมด้วยน้ำแข็ง รวมถึงการตัดทอนรูปทรงจากธรรมชาติที่ได้พบเห็นจนสามารถพัฒนามาเป็นรูปแบบของแพทเทิร์นผ่านเทคนิคการเดรปปิ้งบนโครงชุดที่สามารถสวมใส่ได้ในชีวิตประจำวัน

Ek Thongprasert
Always fascinated by the historical and cultural relations in designs, Ek Thongprasert traces Batik back to the Dutch colonialism where he finds out that the striking similarities between the techniques used in batik in its African colonies and the techniques that Thailand had received from Malaysia are no coincidence. And that is the beginning of all the fun in discovering and interpreting in this latest collection “The Reversed Colonialism” where he selects some aspects in these relations to reconstruct new relationships between them that lessen the gap between Batik and the fast-paced lifestyles of today.

Sarunrat Panchiracharoen
In this collection, Sarunrat Panchiracharoen uses pattern and fashion designs to portray his fascination with diving. It was during his trips to Surin Islands that he experienced the joy and wonder of Free Diving – a diving methods without the use of an oxygen tank. This school of diving allows him to blend in and become one with nature as if he was one of the sea animals who get to enjoy the beautiful world under the water.

T-ra Chantasawasdee
T-ra Chantasawasdee draws upon his memory of a family trip to Iceland where he paints and recounts his impression of the Northern Light through the use of the flows of colors in Batik. The beauty of the glacier at Diamond Beach is portrayed with a dyeing technique that uses ice while the natural shapes and forms are reduced and interpreted into patterns paired with masterful draping on a silhouette that is perfect for daily life.

VINN PATARARIN "Fluid Flair"
In the garden when the sun rose up and the light glittering, you saw some part of yourself reflecting in the water and its ripple a long with the water. That very exact moment when you have a chance to see both side of you.

“Fluid Flair” is a collection from VINN PATARARIN in 2019. Equinox means the moment when the period of day time and night are the same. With this inspiration, we aims to experiment in new surfaces, materials and motifs which represent the new ideal of party-to-casual wear. The research go through fashion eras and more in reflection’s photography to develop the silhouettes in this collection. The moment of half reflection that creates asymmetry forms and technique along with the feeling of glittery that not only in night time but also in day time.

In this collection, The motif developed from reflection of water and light. We capture lines and space within the line and adapted them in to grid. The experimentation went on the process of how to use materials in cross-disciplanry and how to combine with cutting edge technology untill the materials and motifs effects to the collection both in glittery and non glittery.

GREYHOUND ORIGINAL AUTUMN / WINTER 2019 “BANGKOK POST”
ลองนึกภาพชีวิตประจำวันในกรุงเทพฯ เวลาที่เราเดินออกมาจากบ้านเราอาจจะเห็นความยุ่งเหยิงวุ่นวาย ควันพิษ รถติด แต่ท่ามกลางสภาพที่น่าปวดหัวของเมืองๆ นี้ กรุงเทพฯ เป็นเมืองที่เต็มไปด้วยเสน่ห์และแรงบันดาลใจ เรื่องสร้างสรรค์ที่ลอกเลียนแบบไม่ได้มากมาย มันแฝงอยู่ในทุกๆ ที่ที่เราไป สไตล์หรือการแต่งตัวที่เกิดจากการนำสิ่งที่มีอยู่แล้วมาพลิกแพลงทำให้เกิดสิ่งแปลกใหม่แบบที่ใครๆ คิดไม่ถึง หรือด้วยการผสมผสานการแต่งกายและวัฒนธรรมแบบบ้านๆ ที่มีความเป็นกันเอง ง่ายๆ ที่ไม่ต้องพึ่งแบบในนิตยสาร เหมือนว่า ใครๆ ก็ดูเหมือนจะเป็น Stylist หรือ Editor in Chief ของหนังสือแฟชั่นสักเล่มได้ และวัฒนธรรมข้างถนนแบบนี้เองที่เป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการออกแบบคอลเลคชั่น Autunm/Winter 2019 ของพวกเรา Greyhound Original

“BANGKOK POSE” คือ คอลเลคชั่นที่เชื่อว่า Streets of Bangkok นั้นเต็มไปด้วยตัวละครสุดพิเศษที่แสนจะธรรมดาที่น่าสนใจและมีเอกลักษณ์ โดยเนื้อหาของ Collection แบ่งออกเป็นเรื่องของ Street Culture อย่าง Graffiti Bombing ที่เขียนทับกันไปมา นำมาแปลเป็นเทคนิคคือการซ้อนกันของผ้าโปร่งและ Double Layers บวกกับส่วนผสมของ Backpacker ที่เห็นได้จาก Styling ของเหล่า Tourists จากแหล่งท่องเที่ยวต่างๆในกรุงเทพฯ ต่อไปคือ เรื่องของ THAIpography โดยนำเอาตัวหนังสือภาษาไทยมาใช้ผสมกับการ Distortion ให้ความรูปร่างผิดแปลกไปจากปกติ ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในรูปแบบของการ Deconstruction ที่ทางแบรนด์ใช้อยู่เป็นประจำ เพื่อเข้ามาผสมกับเสื้อผ้าแบบ Twisted Tailoring ซึ่งเป็น Signature ของ Greyhound Original และส่วนที่เป็นสีสันที่สุดของ Collection คือลายผ้าพลาสติก Blue Sheet สารพัดประโยชน์ที่เราเห็นได้ตามตรอกซอยถนนทั่วไป ถูกดัดแปลงมาเป็นลายพิมพ์เพื่อบอกเล่าเอกลัษณ์ของกรุงเทพฯ ผสมกับการหยิบ Legacy Items ที่ใส่กันตั้งแต่อากงจนมาถึงรุ่นเหลนอย่างกางเกงเล หรือเสื้อคอจีน เอามาแมชกับเสื้อ Basic โครง Modern ตัวอื่นๆ ได้สบาย และสุดท้ายคือ Beautiful Chaos ที่ไม่พูดถึงคงไม่ใช่กรุงเทพฯ ที่สมบูรณ์ ทั้งสายไฟพันกันยุ่งเหยิง การปะผุตามใจ แปลงมาเป็นเส้นสายรุงรังอย่างมีศิลปะตามแบบฉบับของเราที่เรียกว่า Artistic Rebel ซึ่งคอลเลคชั่นนี้เป็นช่วงเวลาที่เราได้ทำงานร่วมกับ IKEA จึงเป็นโอกาสที่ทำให้เราได้สำรวจของใกล้ตัวต่างๆ มากกว่ามองอะไรที่ไกลจากชีวิตประจำวันของพวกเรา
